Over the years, the Lake Amphibian Club has found through experience that Lake type specific initial & recurrent training has proven to be the most effective means to improve safety and lower insurance claims, and has tried to work with select insurance agencies and brokers who recognized the unique characteristics of our aircraft and supported our training-based philosophy with Lake-experienced CFI’s as a means of risk reduction and resulting lower insurance premiums for our members. With the recent re-structuring and hardening of the insurance market, we have found the relationships that we had fostered to this end impossible to maintain. Therefore we no longer endorse any particular insurer or agency. However, we do continue to support the Lake-CFI program, and will list insurance sources that might be beneficial to our members.
